Hi, I’m Aashish K C. I’m a software engineer from Nepal who enjoys building systems that are clean, reliable, and actually useful.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked with startups and small teams, mostly focusing on backend development but often contributing across the stack when needed. I care deeply about writing code that’s thoughtful, maintainable, and built with clarity.
My experience has taught me the value of simplicity—how well-structured systems and clear communication often matter more than complexity. I like working on problems that involve real users, practical constraints, and long-term thinking.
Outside of code, I’m always looking for ways to keep learning. I read, explore side projects, and try to stay in touch with how technology fits into the broader world. I find it exciting when small ideas grow into tools or workflows that people actually use.
When I’m not working, I’m probably out for a morning run, playing around with a project idea I can’t let go of, or just taking time to reset and reflect. I believe good work takes curiosity, patience, and care—and I try to bring all three into the things I build.

Open Source Contributor
Contributed to localization and accessibility tools for Nepali users. -
STEM Mentor, Local Tech Communities (Nepal)
Helped early-career students get started with backend development and open source. -
Hackathon Volunteer
Assisted in organizing local hackathons and tech meetups at Kathmandu University. I was the Head of Outreach and Marketing for the first online international MLH hackathon in the midst of COVID pandemic, KU Hackfest 2021.

🌍 Beyond Code
When I’m not buried in backend logic or machine learning models, I like to stretch my legs — literally and mentally.
- 🏃 Running: I enjoy early morning runs. It clears my head and sets the tone for my day.
- 📚 Reading: I gravitate toward non-fiction — tech, society, or a good memoir.
- 🏔️ Hiking: Nothing resets my mind like a quiet trail in the hills of Nepal.
- 🎧 Music: You’ll often find me working with classic rock playing in the background.
Curiosity is my fuel — whether it’s a new framework, a book, or a trail, I love exploring.
